intel has launched a face book application that allow spare processing power to be used to fight diseases and climate change. it was launched on monday teemed up with grid republication.
there was the problem of crunching the massive amount of data for higher level research.......because it was very expensive and/or not readily.
so this technology going to provide Thru Processors, a computing application built on the Facebook platform that allows people to donate their PC's available data processing capacity to research projects such as rosetta@home which uses computers to determine the 3-dimensional shapes of proteins that may ultimately lead to finding cures for some major human diseases.
rosetta@home also going to provide reliability when climate change.climateprediction.net is dedicated to increased understanding of global climate change by predicting the Earth's climate and testing the accuracy of climate models.
"this new technology will take very little incremental resouce on your Pc. it will be very usefull for researchers",........Deborah Conrad, Intel vice president and general manager of corporate marketing, said in a statement.
Thru Processors is avilable for all user which are on facebook.
hmm.......
